Falcons Accelerate EXL Policies
Falcons Accelerate Attendance Policy
1. Registration and Attendance Requirements
- Students must be fully enrolled in 6crickets within the first two weeks of attendance.
- Students must attend their normal instructional day to participate in Falcons Accelerate.
- If a student is marked absent (unexcused) during the school day, they cannot participate in after-school programs that day.
- If a student has 2 unexcused absences after registration is complete, they will be placed back on the waitlist.
2. Initial Attendance Without Registration
- If a student attends for the first time without proper registration after the two-week grace period, they will be referred to the office.
- The office will contact the parent/guardian, and the student will be directed to a Falcons Accelerate club while waiting for pickup.
3. Subsequent Attendance Without Registration
- If a student attends without proper registration a second time (or any further occurrences), they will be sent directly to the office.
- The office will contact the parent/guardian to arrange immediate pickup.
4. Early Dismissal Policy
- Any early dismissal less than one hour before the scheduled end time may count as an absence if instructors are not notified in advance.
- Parents/guardians must inform instructors or program leadership prior to pickup time to avoid an unexcused absence being recorded.
5. Office Role
- The office does not handle registration.
- It serves only as the initial hub to receive and direct students to a holding club or to be picked up by their parent/guardian.
6. Late Pick Up Policy
-
As a reminder, the Falcons Accelerate Program ends at 5 PM on school days and 4:30 PM during intersessions.
-
Our goal is to keep every child safe. Please review our late pick-up guidelines below:
|
First Time |
Staff will note the late pick-up and give a reminder. |
|
Second Time |
A written notice will be given and documented. |
|
Third Time |
Meeting with Coordinator. May result in probation or placement on the waitlist. |
|
30+ Minutes Late |
If we cannot reach a parent/guardian, local authorities may be contacted for safety. |
|
Ongoing Lateness |
Chronic lateness may lead to probation and placement on the program waitlist. |
Please be on time. Repeated late pick-ups disrupt staff schedules and may affect your child’s participation.
Falcons Accelerate Safety Policy
The Falcons Accelerate Afterschool Program follows state, district, and child safety regulations to ensure the well-being of all participants.
7. Zero Tolerance for Safety Concerns
-
Any behavior or action that jeopardizes the safety or rights of others will not be tolerated.
-
This includes: violence, bullying, harassment, possession of prohibited items, unsafe use of equipment, or any conduct creating a hazardous environment.
-
Safety violations will result in immediate intervention, parent/guardian notification, and possible involvement of school administration, law enforcement, or child protective services.
8. Supervision & Environment
-
Students must remain in designated program areas at all times and be under direct staff supervision.
- All staff are trained in safety protocols, emergency response, and child protection policies.
9. Emergency Preparedness
-
The program conducts regular safety drills (fire, earthquake, lockdown) per district guidelines.
-
All injuries, accidents, or safety incidents must be reported immediately to program leadership.
Falcons Accelerate Accommodation Policy
Falcons Accelerate welcomes students with IEPs and 504 Plans and provides accommodations whenever possible. However, some requests go beyond what the program can reasonably provide.
Accommodations are not reasonable if they:
- Change the program
- Example: Removing group activities when teamwork is a core part of the program.
- Create safety risks
- Example: Allowing participation without needed supervision that could endanger others.
- Exceed program resources
- Example: Requiring specialized staff or medical services the program cannot provide.
- Limit other students’ access
- Example: Requests that prevent staff from safely supervising all participants.
- Replace school services
- Example: Therapy or specialized instruction that is the responsibility of the school.
Our Commitment:
We will always work with families to explore other options and supports that help students feel included and successful in Falcons Accelerate.
Falcons Accelerate Snack Policy
-
All snacks must be approved by staff before being eaten.
-
Snacks should follow school nutrition guidelines and avoid known allergens when possible.
-
Sharing food is not allowed for health and safety reasons.
Falcons Accelerate Cell Phone Use Policy
-
Cell phone use is limited to necessary communication and only under staff supervision.
-
Devices should remain put away during activities unless approved by staff for educational or emergency purposes.
-
Misuse may result in the device being held by staff until the end of the day and returned directly to a parent/guardian.
